Seamus O'More
Clan Coordinator
Mo chara(my friend)
My name is Seamus O'More, husband to the great and lovely Noreen
and I am heading up Sonora's Clan Row. My people came from
Ireland "The Ole Sod" as my Dad said, we left Rathkeale Co. Limerick
in 1874, yes that was years ago. Landed in New York and stayed in
the area until WWII, "The war to end all wars". At this time my Dad
was serving in the US Marines, a branch I also served in as a Recon
Marine in the 70's(1900 not 1800) and traveled the world.I never
knew what it was to be an Irish Celt as raised 2 boys and worked
many jobs. Lived in Idaho for a while, but mostly loved and lived right
here in Ca. My state, my county as my Father said it. Then I stumbled
upon a game in Monterey, Ca. and was hooked. I had a entry into
being Celtic and Irish Am. As the years passed I saw the importance of
sharing our history. I saw the love everyone had. I found my real home.
My community of same minded people. Fast thinkers, slow burners,
great friends and above all honest people. Something I never knew as a
drifter though life, as it was.
So now I have been given a chance to help others show what it is to
belong to a family of Celtic people. If I died yesterday, I would be a
happy man to know each and every one of my Celtic Brothers and
Sisters. So come one and all, share each of your Ole Sod's with the
visitor and the lost of our Celtic nations. Part take in the New
awakening of The Celt. Hold on to your history, as you step across the
line you never will come back from. Talk of that history, weave those
tales which you pulled out of the past and share those great smiles from
the lands of the "Strong Men and beautiful women"
